System Administrator

November 2019 – October 2020Lehi, UT

After working as Nuvi's IT guy through the end of 2019, Nuvi offered me a new role as the system administrator. This gave me a new purpose, to manage the app and systems within the company, supporting each department with best technical practices. This was so exciting for me, since the role allowed more freedom, new goals, and more than anything, I got to tinker. I could create and configure, build and deploy, and did things that made working at Nuvi easier! I operated close to the CEO and CTO, and loved being able to help them run their business and make things that changed the way the company ran. I had many ideas and goals in mind for Nuvi, and I'm proud of what I got done during my time there.

IT Support Desk - "The IT Guy"

May 2019 – November 2019Lehi, UT

Banyan's time came to an end in May 2019. We were acquired by Nuvi, and immediately we moved our team into their building in Thanksgiving Point. From there, we all received new roles. I began work as the IT Guy, acting as an internal help desk. I took control of the company on a technical level, creating structure, increasing security, and providing in-office technical support. At first a large amount of my work was related to getting the rest of the Banyan team integrated into Nuvi as well as helping the Nuvi team ingest the company, including client data, application and system access and more. In return, I learned a lot about Nuvi and expanded to serving the rest of the company. I have to give credit to Brett Flake who had originally promoted me as a good fit for the position and helped me gain access to Banyan before he left to continue other ventures.

Banyan

Banyan (later acquired by Nuvi) built a reputation management and web services platform for small and medium businesses.

Product & Website Services Support

February 2019 – May 2019Orem, UT

After a year and a half working with the Banyan account management team, providing technical support to both clients and staff alike, I began working more closely with web service clients, taking design requests, helping with updates to domains, DNS, 3rd party apps, plugins, and integrations, and learning more about the technology around cloud hosting. I still played a role in account on-boarding and enterprise level product support for the Banyan core applications, but my focus shifted to working more closely with the engineering and website teams. While working at Banyan, I came to understand a tribal culture, one that was pure, under pressure, but real, and they helped me find who I was, and where I could fit. For that they awarded me The Banyan Beast, an amazing personalized token, reflecting my presence on the company and the challenges that I overcame.

Support Engineer & Client On-boarding Specialist

September 2017 – February 2019Orem, UT

At Banyan, I operated as a support engineer for Banyan's reputation management suite. Not all features or functions existed when Banyan started building its product platform, so many tasks needed to be done manually through database and server work. This included activating product features, changing passwords, creating new users, and moving information between accounts. All of this work was completed by me. This was a cool experience because I learned a lot right off the bat about SAAS and working with the technology that drives companies.

While working at ROI Solutions, I was able to ramp up my technical experience, and because the focus was on call center systems, I learned how small changes can make big differences.

Financial and Insurance Advisor

February 2017 – June 2017Draper, UT

Being a licensed Life Insurance and financial advisor was more a journey than a position. With the experience gained, I feel more confident with myself, my money, and my future, but more so, I got the chance to be the hungry wall street wolf my inner salesman craved. I am honored to have worked with such a benevolent provider and team.

ModusLink

ModusLink provided supply chain and fulfillment support services, including technical and product support for client brands like GoPro.

Technical and Product Support Representative

November 2016 – January 2017Orem, UT

Besides working with the coolest product line, client base, and corporate team, GoPro was the home to my helpful nature, it brought out what true customer service was for me, and that went past any call script, handle time, or phone system. I explored GoPro in an out, learning more about each amazing product, and the stark mid-life company itself.

Clearlink

Inbound Sales Representative

October 2015 – July 2016Orem, UT

I did myself the pleasure of taking myself out of the retail world, past customer service, and straight to the belly of the beast. Clearlink was the start of my career in sales, and never before had I been in such a fast paced and high stakes environment. While striving to earn the Prime Club status only six months in, I found how motivation really changes the game.

Janitorial, Food Prep

Started: January 2015Lehi, UT

Costa Vida was a great place to work, their corporate office was really close, and they got things done right. I have always had kind managers and teammates, and though it can get incredibly busy some days, it is a nice place to earn money while in school. I have done a number of jobs at Costa Vida including washing dishes, repairing the dish washer, even at other locations, making sauces and preparing ingredients, making tortillas and even making a good salad. This job taught me that it is okay. Note: I have actually worked at Costa Vida a few times in my career, basically any time I needed side cash. Use that information however you'd like.

Janitorial, Food Prep, 'Pizza artist?'

Started: January 2015Lehi, UT

I had... an experience at Pizza Studio, and this gets a little drama filled, not only did my ex girlfriend work, there, my new girlfriend started there as well, and we met at the introduction meeting. The location we were working at, in thanksgiving Point, was completely new and no one had made a pizza in it before that day. My mother also started working a short time after, you can see how things went weird quickly. Either way, I had never done anything like that, and I was happy to see that Pizza Studio has learned a lot from those days.

I can't tell you how much I loved working at Popeye's Chicken. I started there only a few months after it had opened, and people could not get enough of the chicken. This is my favorite job, and considering it was my first job... and it was a miracle that things turned out the way they did. I met my first girlfriend there, and my buddy from school also also started a few months after I did. We rocked that drive through, him and made "Chicken and Change" which meant that by the time the customer could pay, they could take a bit of the chicken. We were tossing bags out the door, biscuits, tenders... ah, good times. Note: If you go to that Popeye's location, ask for something called the 'Nasty Wrap'. I promise, it is so good, and I would know. My buddy and I invented it. We also had a 'Nasty Po' Boy' but the store discontinued the Po' Boy buns in trade for chicken sandwich buns.
